Roman Turcel

Slovakia

Roman Turcel is a Slovak artist, designer and gallerist. He likes to use public spaces, parks, streets and department stores to present his work of art. This originates from his sincere effort to spread and confront art not only with a narrow circle of initiates. The dominant theme in his work is the conflict of human instincts with civilization and morality. He often depicts parts of the human body, especially hands, which are a philosophical development of Michelangelo's theme, where God's hand almost touches Adam – a saving and healing touch.
