Vojtěch Míča

The Czech republic

Vojtěch Míča is a sculptor, pedagogue and head of the sculpture studio at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts. He likes to use ordinary, not expressive materials, such as ordinary concrete, a material characteristic of our streets and whole cities. His seemingly unfinished and as if random sculptures are a synthesis of disparate, geometrically minimalist and hypertrophied elements. The creative principle for him is the search for a pure and clear order, which he suspects somewhere behind the chaos of everyday life.
